Valentine's Tea Party
Many of you know that a few years ago I decided to make Valentine's Day a special family day at our house. Sure, Jason and I get to go out and celebrate sometime during the week, but on Valentine's Day we had a very special family dinner. The girls would plan days ahead what they were going to wear and how they were going to make Daddy's Valentine card. We would make the dinner together and decorate the table with place cards and programs for the evening. We usually would dance in the living room after dinner.
This year was different. At first I was dreading the day, then we decided to have Cadence make something to put at "Lindsey's Remembering Place". (Notice the painted wooden "LOVE") A dear friend had given Cadence a new tea set because she knew that Lindsey and Cadence loved to have tea parties. So we ended up having a tea party at "Lindsey's Remembering Place". We talked about Lindsey and remembered what we did last Valentine's Day. We also talked about her being in heaven and all the parties she must be having there.
Thanks Amber and Caroline for joining us for our tea party!
Then last night we were the guest of honor at a play that was presented by Lindsey's school. The play was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Some of Lindsey's classmates were the baby oopma loompas. It was bittersweet to see them on stage. We were so pleased and honored that they dedicated the performance in memory of Lindsey and they are giving part of the proceeds to the memorial fund. What an incredible gift, we know that Lindsey was loved.
