Heart Walk

Tire Centers, the company Jason works for, has designated this year’s American Heart Association Heart Walk in memory of Lindsey. The Heart Walk will be March 17 at Falls Park in downtown Greenville. We are recruiting walkers and/or fundraisers. You can participate in a number of ways.
First, you can be a walker and fundraiser for our team. We have set a goal of $2,500 for our team which we’ve designated "Lindsey’s Team". If you would like to be a walker and fundraiser, go to the following webpage and click on the "Join Our Team" link.

If you raise $100, you will get a free T-shirt that will have Lindsey's picture and the slogan "Our Hearts Walk for Lindsey" to wear at the walk.
Second, you can simply walk and show your support for the AHA. Click the link above to sign up to just walk. If you are going to walk and/or fundraise, please sign up by January 30.
Third, you can buy the t-shirt for $20, with the proceeds going to the AHA. To buy a t-shirt, please send us a check for $20 made out to the American Heart Association along with your shirt size. Our address is 18 Rothesay Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
Fourth, you can donate to the AHA on my page at:

Reunion

Mike Greene went home to be with the Lord and Lindsey at 7:15 pm on January 21. Please continue to pray for us as we deal with so many emotions, desires, decisions, and explanations. Cadence is excited for Grandpa and a little jealous. We truly feel God's grace carrying us.

My Dad

I know many of you are praying for my dad, Mike Greene. On Monday the doctors told my dad that the cancer cell numbers have increased and that the chemo treatments are not being successful. The doctor said that he could have as little as a week to live. Hospice came to the house yesterday and will be assisting us in making my dad as comfortable as possible. I can only say again that God loves us and He is pouring out His grace on our family. It is hard to block out the pain of losing Lindsey to focus on my parents now. Pray for strength and direction. My dad's brother Tim and sister Susan are here. My brother Rick will fly here today and my brother Josh comes in on Saturday. “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:8).

Weekend Update

So many times I have wanted to post how we are doing and I struggle knowing what to say. Someone sent an email today that really explains how I feel. She quoted something that Elizabeth Elliot (widowed missonary in Ecuador ) once said, "Sometimes, life is so hard you can only do the next thing. Whatever that is, just do the next thing. God will meet you there."

This past weekend we did just that. Jason had to work in Chattanooga on Friday so we were able to spend the night with our friends Brian and Amy Thompson. We had not been to their home since Lindsey's death. It was hard to see the swing on the porch where the girls loved to swing with Brian. So many memories. We went to dinner Friday evening with Brian and Amy and David and Karen Myrick. We love you guys! Thanks for being there for us.

While we were at dinner Friday, MiMi and Papa Greg watched Cadence for us. For those of you who don't know. MiMi is Amy Thompson's mother and has "adopted" our girls as her granddaughters. Cadence and MiMi had fun baking a cake and having a pretend birthday party. The cake was very sweet (thanks to Cadence pouring a whole bottle of sprinkles on the top) and messy, but she had fun.

From Chattanooga we went to Florence, AL to see Jason's mother. Another hard thing going to Grandma's house where the girls have stayed so many times. Then Sunday we went to the church where Jason grew up. It was hard, but good to see the people that have known him all his life and are grieving with us.

GOOD NEWS: My sister Rebecca and her husband Ryan are proud parents of a new baby girl, Petra Grace Ferguson. (Grace is in honor/memory of Lindsey) Cadence and I went to see her this afternoon. In Cadence's words "she is adorable".

His Grace Still Amazes Me

Right now I am having trouble concentrating, but it seems that every morning God puts a new verse or song on my mind that I go throughout the day saying/singing. This morning it was "Your Grace Still Amazes Me" . I can hardly read the words without lifting my hands and crying.
Here is a small portion of it:

Your grace still amazes me
Your love is still a mystery
Each day, I fall on my knees
Cause your grace still amazes me
Your grace still amazes me

A Few Christmas Photos

I wanted to share some pictures of Cadence from Christmas.
It is hard to post them without Lindsey beside her.

Cadence asked "Santa" for 2 things. The Elefin Game and a big box of Nerds. They were both under the tree on Christmas morning.

Here she is practicing her new ballerina steps.
